Remerie operates this website and store (the “Services”) to create personalised, interactive digital keepsakes designed to be meaningful, private, and replayed over time.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit our website, purchase or use our products, upload content, or otherwise interact with Remerie.

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described below.

We respect that the content you trust us with is deeply personal.

Your photos, videos, audio, and messages are private and are processed only to create and deliver your Remerie keepsake.

Depending on how you interact with Remerie, we may collect the following:

a) Information You Provide to Us

  • Transaction information: purchase details, payment confirmations, and order history

  • User-Generated Content: images, videos, audio files, written messages, and other content you upload to create a keepsake

b) Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: IP address, browser type, and device or network identifiers

  • Usage information: pages viewed, access timestamps, and interactions with the Services

  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to operate, secure, and improve the Services

2. User-Generated Content

Remerie allows users to upload images, videos, audio files, and written messages (“User-Generated Content”) to create personalised digital keepsakes.

  • Ownership: You retain full ownership of all User-Generated Content you upload. Remerie does not claim ownership over your content.

  • Purpose limitation: User-Generated Content is stored and processed only to operate, deliver, maintain, and support the Services.

  • No secondary use: We do not use User-Generated Content for advertising, marketing, public display, unrelated analytics, or artificial intelligence training.


3. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information only where necessary to:

  • Provide and operate the Services

  • Process payments and deliver digital keepsakes

  • Respond to customer support enquiries

  • Maintain functionality, performance, and security

  • Prevent fraud and misuse

  • Comply with legal obligations


3A. Legal Basis for Processing

Where required under applicable data protection laws, Remerie processes personal information on the following bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Services you request or purchase

  • Consent: where you voluntarily provide personal information or upload content

  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the Services in a way that does not override your rights

4. Retention of User-Generated Content

User-Generated Content is retained for a rolling period of up to five (5) years from the date the content was last accessed via its shared template link.

Each time the content is accessed within this period, the retention period is extended by an additional five (5) years.

If content is not accessed within the applicable retention period, it is automatically deleted from our systems.

You may request early deletion of your content at any time by contacting us.

You are encouraged to keep your own backups of any content you wish to retain permanently.

Residual copies may remain in secure backup systems for a limited period. These copies are not actively accessed or used, except where required for legal, security, or technical reasons, and are deleted in accordance with our backup retention practices.


5. Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers: such as payment processors, hosting providers, and technical infrastructure partners who process information on our behalf

  • For legal reasons: to comply with laws, regulations, or lawful requests

  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or restructuring

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information and do not share User-Generated Content for marketing, advertising, profiling, or data brokerage purposes.


6. Access by Remerie Staff

Remerie staff do not routinely access User-Generated Content.

Access may occur only if you explicitly request support that requires us to view your content, such as troubleshooting a technical issue. Any access is limited to what is necessary and subject to confidentiality obligations.


7. Shared Links and User Responsibility

Remerie templates are accessible via private shareable links. Anyone with access to a link may be able to view the content contained within the template.

You are responsible for how and with whom you share links. Remerie is not responsible for any access, disclosure, or misuse of content resulting from links shared by you or third parties.


8. Third-Party Services and Shopify

The Services are hosted using Shopify and other service providers. Personal information submitted through the Services may be transmitted to and processed by these providers to enable us to operate Remerie.

Service providers may be located outside your country of residence.


9. International Data Transfers

Personal information may be stored or processed outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on recognised data transfer mechanisms, including contractual safeguards, to protect personal information.


10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not specifically directed at children.

If you upload content that includes personal information of a child, you confirm that you have the legal right and necessary consent to share that content with us.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child’s personal information has been provided to us without consent, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
